The owner is great. My truck broke down maybe 500ft from Their shop when I was visiting town. My father called since they are his usual service center. They towed me over, replaced my alternator, washed my car and had me back on the road in 24hrs.

Tom has been my mechanic for 2 years and my mother's for almost a decade. He is very accommodating, diligent, friendly, honest, and reasonably priced. He's very good at diagnosing car issues and explaining exactly what needs to be done, as well as offering options on how to fix those issues and what they entail. He always tells me what I can just do myself, has never tried to sell me on getting non-essential work done, and all the work is done in a timely manner. Tom Farrell has been my mechanic for over 15 years, and I have been very happy with both the quality of his work, and how I have been treated. Even though he runs a small shop and my requests for service are almost always on short notice (older car), he makes sure to check out my car on a timely basis. He is clear and thorough when stating what needs to be repaired. His price quotes are always in the ballpark of the actual bill. His prices are fair. Tom knows I?m on a budget, and unlike the larger chains, he doesn?t price-gauge or fast-talk me into getting more than what?s necessary. He knows my car inside and out, which would never be the case at a large shop. Thanks to Tom, my car is running well for over 250k miles. Tom and Eric are the best and most honest mechanics you will find anywhere. Several years ago I called Tom in frustration because I was having problems with my Buick that the dealer was unable to fix after having it in the shop twice. Tom correctly diagnosed the problem over the phone! After that, I started bringing all family cars there. My son brought his car in recently with transmission issues. After checking things out, Eric called the local Ford dealer and found that the problem was under warranty. They could have fixed it and charged me thousands of dollars and I wouldn't have known any better! That's honesty.

I live in NC, car shut down on NJ turnpike at night.Tow guy recommended this shop said they were fair and reasonable. I was afraid of being a woman in a desperate situation seemingly vulnerable?. I needed a pump and a pulley for my cooling system. It was done within 2 hours with a guarantee that lasts 1yr and recognized by auto shops here in North Carolina. It was the owners birthday as well! We have been taking our cars to Electro Tech for years and we always feel confident that Tom and Eric will be honest and do great work in a very reasonable amount of time. They are not close to our home, but it is so worth the trip to know that our cars are in good hands. Just last Friday, my older Subaru started having a very loud rattling/growling noise from the engine area. I was very close to home, so went back and had the car towed to Tom's after realizing that driving it could ruin the car forever. We believed it was something very wrong with the engine. Tom and Eric arrived at work on Saturday morning, to find my Subaru waiting for them, once again, and knowing that we are trying to keep this car going for as long as we can, jumped right on diagnosing our car. Within less than 1 hour, Tom called with the good news that it was the timing belt/ tensioner pulley and that we did not need a new engine at all. Towing it also saved the car. We discussed the cost and timing of the work and we were back on the road Saturday with a huge weight lifted off of us. Tom always makes sure that we know to call him if there are any issues at all, and checks out other things to make sure the cars are safe before leaving his shop. Cannot say enough about how great it feels to have an honest, caring, responsible team of car guys! Kudos to Tom and Eric. Worth the trip from anywhere!

Electro-Tech Auto Repair is THE BEST auto repair shop that I have ever found!! We have always taken our cars to them for service and repair. Most recently, after a different auto repair shop failed to locate the source of an fluid leak in the transmission of my prized 1974 Buic Riviera, I decided to ask Electro-Tech to look at it. Finally found mechanics I can trust! Being a female many mechanics take full advantage because of the lack of knowledge about car mechanics and always sell you more than you really need. You will not find that here very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, & more importantly they are happy to take the time to educate and show you the parts that need to be changed before hand and what was completed after the way all auto shops should. I have never come out of a repair situation trusting a mechanic more than today when I went to Electro Tech. The night before my driver side window would not roll back up and so in the morning I starting calling around to different places to try to get it fixed. Tom was the only person to understand how much of an issue having a permanently open window was for me and was able to get my car in right away. He was so incredibly nice and reassuring during the whole process and always let me know what price everything was going to be so there were never any surprises. After fixing the window I had mentioned that my heat had been broken for the past 3 years and I had tried getting it fixed at multiple other places to no avail and he popped the hood and noticed the issue in less than a minute. It was a fast fix and for the first time in a long time I have working heat which I was able to test right there. He explained every part of what the issues were and how they needed to be fixed. Not only does he really know his stuff (finding a small issue that escaped multiple other people), but he seems to really care about making sure that your car is safe and taken care of. I will without a doubt be going here from now on with my problems because for the first time I left a mechanic feeling really good about the experience. My mind was seriously blown. Thank you so much!

Tom is friendly and honest - not to mention knowledgeable. An electrical engineer with a love of cars he can explain any aspect in all the detail you desire and makes it very easy to understand. He worked with us on an old car to do only as much as necessary to make the car safe and functional. It is great to deal with the owner (Tom) and know he does the work himself (along with trusted sidekick, Eric). He is fair and gives a quote up front. If he needs ti charge time for labor involved in diagnosing he will tell you up front and give a ceiling on the amount. Highly recommend.

I had a serious malfunction issue with my car. My regular mechanic suggested I get rid of it since the cost for repair would be great due to the issue being engine related. I decided to check around and came across Electro Tech Auto Repair in Monmouth Junction NJ. After speaking with the owner (Tom) I decided to let Electro Tech Auto take a look at my car and I am very happy I did. Not only were they able to fix the issue ( at a fraction of what I was led to believe) but they made other suggestions to make my car run even more efficiently (very noticeable improvement in performance). Tom would call me multiple times to give me unsolicited updates about my repair and also kept me abreast of what the service and parts would cost. Wonderful Service! My vehicles starter had went out while visiting my family for Christmas. Had my vehicle towed to Electro Tech to try and fix the problem.
